There were a number of complaints by local residents, but no arrests were made.
Gardai in Castlebar were called to an all-night, open-air rave that took place on the outskirts of the town in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to the Connaught Telegraph, Gardai in Castlebar acted on a number of complaints from local residents about a rave that is believed to have started just after 2am and continued until 7.45am.
The rave took place on private lands in the Kilkenny Cross vicinity of Castlebar, where DJs played electronic music that was described by one local resident as “so loud” at approximately 5am on Saturday morning.
Gardai carried out an inspection but made no arrests, although concerns were raised that a similar event was due to take place at the same location on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
According to the Connaught Telegraph, the rave was the biggest of a number of raves that have taken place on the site in the last number of months.
