Number one definitely surprised us.
There’s a wonderful scene in Hot Shots: Part Deux where the legendary Topper Harley goes on a killing spree that makes Robocop, Total Recall and Rambo look tame in comparison. How we love that movie!
Well, the good people at Go Compare have recently conducted a study of the deadliest blockbusters and discovered that the truly brilliant Guardians of the Galaxy has the most casualties in any film since the ’40s.
While we were surprised to see Star Lord, Rocket, Groot and Gamora come out on top, the film does see the death of of 80,000 Nova Corps pilots in one of its final scenes, meaning that the death count totals 83,871.
This being said, we do have some questions to ask.
For example, Star Wars must have been overlooked by this study because surely there more casualties during Alderaan and the Death Star’s destruction, not to mention the new planets that were also destroyed by Domhnall Gleeson in The Force Awakens. He’s such a divil!
Anyways, here’s their list. How many of these bloody films have you seen?
1. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) – 83,871 on-screen deaths
2. Dracula Untold (2014) – 5,687
3. The Sum of All fears (2002) – 2,922
