TWEETS: Liam Cunningham’s passionate defence of Syrian human rights is being applauded

Paul Moore

“It’s about humanity”.

Game of Thrones star Liam Cunningham was on the Late Late Show but from the very onset of the interview, Ryan Tubridy made it clear that this conversation wasn’t going to be about the hit HBO show.

As many of you will know, the Irish actor has traveled out to visit International Rescue Committee camps in Greece with his co-stars Lena Headey and Maisie Williams.

After hearing about the fate of  Afghan and Syrian fathers, Cunningham (in the clip below) said: “This is not an earthquake, this is not a tidal wave. This is a man-made crisis: 57,000 stranded in Greece. Refugee camps in Europe? Is this truly the standard EU leaders want to set as the way to respond to the global refugee crisis?”

This is clearly an issue that the actor is deeply passionate about and this shined through during his conversation on the Late Late Show.
