Paul Ryan, the Speaker for the House of Representatives and most prominent politician in the Republican party, has made it clear that he will no longer defend the actions of Donald J. Trump.
Ryan has explicitly stated that is aim is now to make sure that the Republicans do not lose their majority in the House of Representatives.
With polls today suggesting that Hillary Clinton might be as far as 14 percentage points ahead of her opponent, Ryan is now making his priority to ensure that Democrats don’t control both the White House and Capitol Hill thus handing Clinton a “blank cheque.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Paul Ryan is all but conceding Hillary Clinton will be the next president.

Spokespeople for Ryan have explicitly stated that this does not mean he is conceding the election to Hillary Clinton, but the suggestion of Ryan’s strategy is very much that he expects Donald Trump to lose on November 8th.
