This is absolutely perfect casting.
If you’re going to have the balls to call Han Solo a “slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler”, then you’re going to need a scoundrel that’s capable of going toe-to-toe with the most beloved nerf herder in the galaxy. That’s why we’re delighted to say that the supremely talented Donald Glover has been cast as Lando Calrissian in the new Star Wars Han Solo spin-off.
We already knew that Alden Ehrenreich was previously cast as the young Solo – here’s everything that we already know about Miller and Lord’s new movie -but if any character can go blaster-to-blaster with Chewbacca’s best buddy, it’s the rightful owner of the Millennium Falcon. We really want to see how he lost it to Han in that card game!
We’re not the only ones that are excited by this news.
Glover as lando! I'm PUMPED

The film will focus on Lando in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld — years before the events on Bespin involving Han, Leia, and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and his rise to Rebel hero in Return of the Jedi.
Glover is best known for creating and starring in the critically acclaimed FX series Atlanta, as well as for starring in four seasons of the show Community, and for his Grammy-nominated album Because the Internet, performed under the name Childish Gambino. In addition, Glover appeared in the Academy Award-nominated The Martian, and will be seen in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The untitled Han Solo movie is set for release in 2018.
