A big haul…

€5 million worth of cocaine has been seized by Revenue and Customs in Clare after it washed up on shore in a torpedo like apparatus.

Approximately 75kg of cocaine was seized on Monday after a suspicious item washed up on shore near Liscannor, Clare.

Revenue responded to the device after they received a tip-off from a member of the public.

According to RTÉ, the Revenue said the device may have been attached below the waterline of a cargo ship or other sea vessel.

At this time, the origin or destination of the device is unknown.
