The Simpsons has been renewed for at least two more seasons

It’s going into a 30th year.

The Simpsons has been renewed for two more seasons, taking it up to a record 30th year.

The animated show will, in the process, become the longest-running scripted TV show of all time; it goes up to 669 episodes, beating the record of Gunsmoke at 635.

“This is yet another record-setting moment for what is truly a landmark series,” said Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs, Dana Walden and Gary Newman.

It’s a classic and despite the fact that it’ll never reach the heights of its ’90s heyday, the longer it goes on, the better.

Here are The Simpsons’ five highest-rated episodes ever.
