Who’s coming along?
Much like Buddy the Elf, the Light House Cinema in Smithfield, Dublin are firm believers that “the best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear”. That’s why they’re screening some of the absolute best Christmas films over the next few weeks (including Santa’s favourite film, Die Hard). To be honest, they’ve got enough crackers to even make Hans Gruber smile.

Did someone say a Die Hard party and Elf plus karaoke? Here’s what they have in store;
Die Hard
Welcome to the party pal because there’s going to be a Nakatomi Tower 80’s Office Party which is followed by a Die Hard screening. Yippee Ki Yay! Dec 2nd. Party 9pm, Film 10.30pm.
Elf
Even if you’re a cotton-headed ninny-muggins, you’ll absolutely love Elfeoke. Yep, that’s a screening of the Will Ferrell Christmas classic that’s followed by karaoke. December 10th. Screening of Elf 9.30pm followed by big screen karaoke until late.

Home Alone
Keep the change you filthy animal.
It’s a Wonderful Life
I’m sure we’re not alone in feeling that Christmas does not truly kick off until we’ve watched Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life at least once.
Bad Santa
An absolute classic that gave us lines like “why don’t you wish in one hand, and shit in the other. See which one fills up first”.

Love Actually
After a string of sold out screenings last year, they’re bringing back the seasonal favourite again. Get ready to celebrate Christmas and don’t forget the tissues!
Miracle on 34th Street
Starring Maureen O’Hara and a very young Natalie Wood who befriends a department store Santa, believing himself to be the actual Santa Claus. This gorgeous Christmas fable is newly remastered and sure to be a glorious watch on the big screen.
Batman Returns
One of the most underrated, weirdest, and flat-out entertaining superhero movies ever made. A true Freudian freak fest of a superhero movie and also one of the strangest Christmas movies you’ve ever seen.
Some of the other films that are going to be screened include; The Polar Express, The Muppets Christmas Carol, Jingle All The Way, Santa Claus: The Movie and The Apartment.
You can check out all the dates, screenings and details here. All we can say is…
