Local reports state nine people have died and around 50 people have been injured.
According to reports coming from Germany on Monday night, a lorry has crashed into shoppers at a Christmas market in Berlin, sparking fears of a terrorist attack.
A suspect has been arrested.
A number of local sources – the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and the Berliner Morgenpost – state that the truck crashed into the market close to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.

The driver reportedly went on the run after the attack, though reports state he was later arrested.
