The Louvre in Paris has been evacuated following an incident.
Security forces have evacuated the area around The Louvre Museum in Paris after reports that a soldier shot a potential attacker.
Early reports suggest that the guard on duty at the museum opened fire on a suspected attacker, who was armed with a knife, who tried to enter with a suitcase.
Police have said the area has been evacuated and the French Interior Ministry has described the situation as serious.

Reuters report that police have cordoned off access to the museum.
Paris police have said the attacker made threats, and a soldier opened fire to defend themselves against aggression.
They fired five shots, seriously injuring the attacker in the stomach.
One soldier suffered a wound to his head during the incident.
