Line improvement works will begin this Saturday, 13 May.
A number of Irish Rail services to and from Dublin’s Heuston Station will be affected by line improvement works on Saturdays starting this weekend and lasting until November.
Irish Rail have advised customers using services to and from Heuston and all connecting services to check their times before travelling on the affected dates while service changes take place on selected Saturdays throughout the rest of this year.
Services to and from Heuston from Cork, Limerick, Tralee, Galway, Westport, Waterford, Portlaoise, Kildare and Dublin commuter services will be affected while Iarnród Éireann continues its programme of line improvement works on the Dublin to Cork line, focusing this year on the section between Hazelhatch and Thurles.

Irish Rail say that the annual investment of €10 million in line improvements will lead to higher reliability, smoother running of trains and with other works deliver consistent 160kph speeds (100 mph), improving journey times for customers in the process.
Details of the affected services and the affected dates can be viewed below, while more information surrounding catering, first class, existing bookings and seat reservations can be found here.
Iarnród Éireann have apologised for any inconvenience caused by these arrangements.
