Such sad news…
The PSNI has confirmed that “at least three people” have died following a house fire in Fermanagh.
Police were called to an address in the Molly Road area of Derrylin at around 7.20am on Tuesday morning.
“Sadly we can confirm that three people have lost their lives in this fire,” Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy said.
Emergency services remain at the scene and are carrying out an extensive examination of the property to establish the cause of the blaze and determine if any other persons have been involved.
Anyone who was in the area and may have seen anything that may assist officers in their investigation is asked to get in touch by calling ‘101’.
In a statement, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said that it received a call at 7.14am on Tuesday morning requesting them to attend the fire at Doon Road in Derrylin.
“Firefighters dealt with a well-developed fire in a detached bungalow. 2 Appliances from Lisnaskea and 1 from Enniskillen attended the scene. The fire is now extinguished and NIFRS remains at the scene.”
