We don’t want to jinx it, but this week’s weather forecast doesn’t look half bad

Never have the words “sunny spells” looked so good.

It seems that this week’s weather forecast may signal the return of the elusive Irish summer time, as warm conditions and highs of 19 degrees are forecast for the majority of the country.

According to Met Éireann, the beginning of the week is set to be a cracker – with sunny spells forecast for the whole country.

“Mostly cloudy and misty tomorrow morning, with patches of drizzle and some hill and coastal fog,” Monday’s forecast reads.

“Drier and somewhat brighter conditions developing for the afternoon and evening, with sunny breaks occurring. Becoming warm with highest temperatures ranging 16 to 19 degrees Celsius, in mostly light Southwest or variable breezes.”

Tuesday sees temperatures drop slightly, as top temperatures of mid-teens are suspected.

“Rather cloudy and misty, with patches of drizzle and light rain for a time. But drier and brighter later in the afternoon and evening. Top temperatures 12 to 16 degrees, in moderate to fresh west, later, northwesterly winds.”

Wednesday and Thursday also boast some sunny spells, with easterly winds bringing in slightly more promising weather forecasts.

“Mostly dry bright days, with some sunny spells each day, but some cloudy periods too. Winds moderate northerly on Wednesday, but more easterly in direction on Thursday. Temperatures in the mid teens, but cool both nights, with lows of 3 or 4 degrees.”

It looks like Leinster will be getting the best of the upcoming good weather, with temperatures between 16 and 18 degrees forecast from Monday through to Thursday.

We will definitely have that.
