The body of a man was discovered in an apartment in Cork on Sunday night.
The man, who may have been there since Friday, is believed to have died from sunstroke according to The Irish Times.
Emergency services attended the scene Lee Road in Cork at around 10.30pm on Sunday night and it’s believed the body of a 45-year-old man was discovered.
Cork City Fire Brigade confirmed their attendance at the scene and said that the scene was “serious”.
“We currently have 4 units from HQ and Ballyvolane attending a serious incident on the Lee Road. GardaTraffic and AmbulanceNAS also providing assistance,” a spokesperson confirmed.
It’s thought that sunstroke is being explored as a cause of death but no definitive cause of death has been given yet.
A postmortem is expected to be carried out at Cork University Hospital.
