Trump said that the meeting had gone “better than anybody could have imagined.”

Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un have signed a document together at the conclusion of their talks in Singapore.

The US President claimed the meeting was “historic” and the North Korean leader promised that “the world will see a major change.”

The contents of the document are not yet known but Trump is expected to hold a press conference shortly where more details are expected to emerge and joint-statement from the pair will also be released according to CNN.

Prior to the signing of the document, Trump said that the meeting had gone “better than anybody could have imagined.”

“We had a really fantastic meeting. A lot of progress,” Trump said. “Really very positive. I think better than anybody could have expected. Top of the line. Really good.”

Kim said through an interpreter: “It has not been easy to come to this point. For us the past has been holding us back, and old practices and prejudices have been covering our eyes and ears, but we have been able to overcome everything.”

He has committed to the complete demilitarisation of the Korean Peninsula and Trump has made some security guarantees to the North Korean leader.
