A TV cameraman came to the rescue. Hero.

A cameraman came to the rescue of a family who got into difficulty after a suspected gorse fire broke out in the Dublin Mountains.

The family were forced to abandon their car after getting into difficulty. The weather conditions caused the car to burn out as the family fled the vehicle on the Old Military Road.

The subsequent gorse and heather fire meant that there was reduced visibility on the road but thankfully, the family were unhurt after the man intervened to help them.

Here’s the footage.

Following the incident, Dublin Fire Brigade have issued the following warning : “Wildfires can change direction suddenly and the smoke from these gorse fires affects your breathing & ability to see. With the current weather, be safe.”
