One man has died in Limerick following a fatal stabbing.
Gardaí in Mayorstone, Limerick are investigating the incident which occurred at a licensed premises at Sexton Street North at approximately 11.55pm, 7 July.
The incident saw Patrick O’Connor, believed to be 24 years of age, receive serious stab wounds and was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
One man, understood to be in his 40s, has been arrested in conjunction with the assault and is currently being detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
