What is this strange liquid falling from the sky?
Sunshine is great and all, but some of us here at JOE have missed the rain.
We even penned an open letter begging for its return.
Hopes and prayers have finally been answered as after what felt like an entire year but was in reality just a few weeks, rain has officially returned to Ireland.
Last weekend, the west was blessed with some mild intermittent outbursts, but it’s getting serious now.
Earlier this week, Met Éireann forecasted some proper showers for the country, and while we’re not talking extreme conditions just yet, Wednesday morning has indeed seen some rain hit the ground.
And it’s not just us who are pleased/shocked by this wet turn of events:

On a more serious note, Gardaí have urged motorists and road users to be careful while travelling, especially in Leinster as it has started to rain heavily and roads may be slick following the long spell of dry weather.

Met Éireann’s latest rainfall forecast expects mostly northern and southern areas of Ireland to be affected as the day goes on.
Cloudier skies will bring scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle to places, but amounts of rain will be small and it will still be dry most of the time with highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees.
