Gardaí “particularly anxious” to speak to Nissan Micra driver following fatal accident in Kildare

They are also looking for anyone who may have Dash Cam footage of the incident.

An investigation into a fatal road traffic accident which happened last week has left Gardaí appealing for witnesses.

The collision – which occurred on the R445 near Monasterevin, County Kildare on Friday 17 August at approximately 2.15pm – involved a black Isuzu crew cab 4×4 vehicle and a motorcyclist. A man, aged in his 50s, was fatally injured as a result of the incident.

He was taken by ambulance to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver and sole occupant of the 4×4 – a male, believed to be in his 60s – was also taken by ambulance to Naas Hospital. His condition is not known.

Those involved with the case are “particularly anxious” to speak the driver of a silver Nissan Micra which was travelling behind the Isuzu in the direction of Monasterevin.

Investigating Gardaí are also appealing for witnesses of the incident or anyone with information or drivers who may have ‘Dash Cam’ footage to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045- 521222, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
