It’s good and bad news.
This weekend is very much a mixed bag on the weather front was we can expect both sun, rain, and frost at different times.
Met Éireann has said that Friday will start as a cool day but thankfully it will be mostly dry with some good sunny spells.
It won’t be overly warm though however as top temperatures will peak at just over 12 degrees.
But Friday night is when things will get interesting as temperatures look set to drop to making it a very cold night. Temperatures will reach 0 degrees in some places, and could potentially go even lower, with some sharp ground frost.

While not at the same level as Storm Emma and The Beast From The East, the chill will be a bit of a shock to the system after so much warm weather over the summer.
Saturday will start mostly dry with sunny spells but it will become cloudier in the west and northwest with patchy rain in the northwest by evening.
Then Saturday night will be wetter with patchy rain in the northwest gradually spreading southeastwards but it will break up towards morning.
As for Sunday, it will be a dull or cloudy day with patchy light rain or drizzle but some bright or sunny spells may develop in the afternoon and towards the evening. Top temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in mostly moderate northwesterly winds but fresh at times.
