Chris Hemsworth is a champ.
More power, rabbit!
Granted, that’s probably not what Chris Hemsworth said to the pilot of this helicopter that surprised a hitchhiker by giving him a ride to a popular surfing spot, but we like to think that it is.
The man who plays Thor is famous around the world for being a superhero on screen, but it’s fair to say that this weary traveller thinks Hemsworth is a bit of a hero in real life after this incredibly kind gesture.
As you can see below, the Thor star posted an Instagram video of himself and a friend, Luke Zocchi, picking up an unknown hitchhiker in Brisbane.
It turns out that this hitchhiker was a US musician named Scott Hildebrand, who had just arrived from Mexico, and he was headed to Byron Bay for some surfing.
“Just landed in Brizzy (Brisbane) and we’ve just seen a guy who is hitchhiking to Byron,” said Zocchi. At this point, Hemsworth interjects and adds: “we’re going to Byron, we’ll give him a lift.”
“Little does he know we’re getting a chopper,” Zocchi says.
After flying him and his guitar to Byron Bay, Hemsworth said it was “back to hitchhiking” for his new friend. “Picked up a hitchhiker, wasn’t a serial killer which we were stoked about,” Hemsworth wrote in typical self-deprecating fashion.
To paraphrase the famous words of Korg from Thor: Ragnarok : “Hey, man. I’m Chris. We’re gonna get outta here on that big helicopter. Wanna come?”
Chris Hemsworth is a champ.
