Very sad news.
Two people have died in separate road traffic collisions, which occurred in Galway and Kildare on Thursday.
Gardaí and Emergency services attended at the scene of serious road traffic collision between two vehicles at Kilrickle, Galway.
A female passenger in her 80s was removed by ambulance to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, where she died a short time later.
The other occupants of the vehicles suffered minor injuries and received treatment at Portiuncula Hospital.

In Kildare, Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Monasterevin.
At 6.50pm on Thursday evening, a male pedestrian aged in his 40s was seriously injured when he was struck by a 4×4 vehicle on Dublin Road, Monasterevin.
He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but died a short time later. The driver was uninjured in the incident.
His body was removed to the mortuary at Naas Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.
