Toulouse-Leinster: Youtube build-up

No Contepomi or Hickie these days but memories of Leinster's win in Toulouse in 2006 are still fresh. Enjoy!

JOE

Miles Harrison and Stuart Barnes often rub us up the wrong way, especially with the Tom-Ass O’Leary jibes – they probably don’t even know the lad well enough to make such a judgment call.

But this is one of their finest moments. “It’s on again,” gushes Barnes, as Felipe Contepomi responds to heavy Toulouse pressure by launching a counter-attack which ends 13 seconds later with Denis Hickie touching down in the corner.

“That is AWESOME,” Harrison shouts, as breathless as the period of play he’s just witnessed.

Here’s the one that got the ball rolling. Unbelievable stuff, twice, from Contepomi before Brian O’Driscoll goes under the posts.

And we make no apologies about including a third from that day in Toulouse. It was one of the best games we’ve ever seen, after all.

Shane Horgan has had his problems this season, chief among them a couple of moments to forget in the quarter-final against Clermont-Auvergne. But here’s the big man at his best, scoring at the end of another dazzling passage of play. And it’s not just about the backs:  watch Malcolm O’Kelly’s imperious take in the lineout. Savage.

And one from Toulouse. Or rather France. Freddie Michalak to Yannick Jauzion in the quarter-final of the 2007 World Cup.
