It follows two similar incidents in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Gardaí in Drogheda are investigating following a string of criminal activity in the Drogheda area over the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday morning (27 April), Gardaí responded to two separate incidents in which houses were attacked with suspect devices.

Those incidents occurred shortly after midnight in Ashleigh Heights and just before 4am in Springfield Court, respectively.

Nobody was hurt in either case.

Sunday morning brought fresh unrest, with three such incidents occurring overnight.

The first took place at St. Laurence’s Park approximately 15 minutes after midnight where the front window and living room of a residence were damaged.

A suspect device was later discovered. Nobody was injured in the attack.

The second incident occurred after 1am when a suspect device was thrown through the window of a house in Scarlett Crescent.

Once again, nobody sustained injuries in this attack.

Finally, the Drogheda Fire Brigade responded to a call at Loughboy in Mell at 4am. No injuries were reported.

It is understood that petrol bombs were involved in each incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
