Here are the best films on TV tonight

Paul Moore

One of the great Harry Potter films is on.

It is Sunday. It’s the Lord’s Day. It’s a day of rest. It’s also All-Ireland final day.

You need a movie? We’ve got them right here.

Take a look at what’s in store.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – RTÉ2 at 6.05pm

Widely regarded as the best of the franchise – this author has previously made the case for Goblet of Fire – but there’s no denying it reinvigorated the franchise and laid the groundwork for the next films.

Still though, the time-turner?

X-Men – 7pm on Film 4

The start of it all (Part One)

Shrek – 7.10pm on ITV2

The start of it all (Part Two)

Zombieland – 9pm on Comedy Central

Looney Tunes meets zombies. It also features one of the greatest cameos in cinema history. You know what we mean.

Casino Royale – 9pm on ITV2

How about that foot chase?

Something’s Gotta Give – 9.30pm on RTÉ1

Nicholson, Keaton, Reeves, McDormand, Peet, Favreau.  A nice rom-com.

Shakespeare in Love – 11.10pm on Paramount

The film that beat Saving Private Ryan to the Best Picture Oscar. The second rom-com that’s nice this evening.

The Faculty – 11.10pm on SyFy

Underrated gem from the ’90s that boasts a soon-to-be famous cast and great soundtrack.
