Floyd Mayweather has admitted he could step up to light middleweight and fight Sergio Martinez instead of taking on Manny Pacquiao in his next big fight.
Mayweather was set to do battle with Pacquiao on March 13 but it fell through, but it may yet happen if Pacquiao can agree with Mayweather on the drug testing programme.
After defeating Shane Mosley in Las Vegas on Saturday night, Mayweather said: “I thought about it (fighting Martinez). Right now, I don’t know what I’m going to do.
“If Manny takes the blood test, we can make that fight happen.”
Pacquiao meanwhile will not comment on boxing until he wins his other fight – to be elected to senate in the Philippines. His crunch election is on May 10.
