The arrests were made on Thursday morning.
Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with the abduction and torture of Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH) director Kevin Lunney.
Two men, both aged 38 years, were arrested in the Dublin Region for an offence contrary to Section 73 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 and are being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Ballymun and Finglas Garda stations.
Lunney was abducted close to his home in Fermanagh on 17 September and suffered life-changing injuries when he was violently assaulted during the ordeal.
A series of police searches as part of the the investigation into the attack on Lunney were carried out this month near the Irish border and one at an address in the Buxton area of Derbyshire.
A man died during the Derbyshire Police raid, Cyril McGuinness, known as Dublin Jimmy. It is believed he had a heart attack during the raid.
Three people were also detained by Gardaí last week and were questioned in Cavan, Kells and Monaghan Garda stations.
