Very sad news.
Silvio Horta, the creator and executive producer of the popular series Ugly Betty, has died in Miami at the age of 45.
The cause of death is currently unclear.
Horta was responsible for adapting a Colombian television series called Yo Soy Betty La Fea and creating Ugly Betty based on it.
Ugly Betty ran for four seasons from 2006 until 2010.
America Ferrera, the actress who played Betty in the series, posted a tribute to Horta on her Instagram page saying: “His talent and creativity brought me and so many others such joy & light.”
