Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has signed a new four-year contract with the club.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been eager to secure Evans’ future at the club as both first-choice central defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic have been plagued by injury this season. Vidic’s future at Old Trafford has also come into question throughout the season.
Northern Ireland international, Evans, spent two loan spells with Sunderland before cementing his place in the United defence this season.
