One more person has died due to Covid-19.

The National Public Health Emergency Team has announced that one more person has died as a result of Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland. The latest figures have taken Ireland’s total known death toll to 1,706.

Additionally, eight new cases of the virus have been confirmed. There have now been a total of 25,303 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland. Today’s announcement follows yesterday’s briefing, where 46 new confirmed cases from Thursday, Friday and Saturday were announced.

32% of all confirmed cases apply to healthcare workers, with 48% of all cases being diagnosed in Dublin.

The median age of confirmed cases remains 48.
