Three more people have died due to Covid-19.
The National Health Public Emergency Team has this evening (16 June) announced there have been three more deaths due to Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland. There have now been a total of 1,709 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.
Additionally, 14 new cases of the virus have been confirmed, which brings Ireland’s known total number of cases to 25,334. This takes into account the denotification of one case.
Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said; “As of midnight Monday 14 June, 386,572 tests have been carried out. Over the past week, 18,758 were carried out. 146 tests were positive, giving a positivity rate of 0.8%.”
It is now almost a month since Ireland began its roadmap to reopening strategy on 18 May.
