Blackpool 2-1 Nottingham Forest
Blackpool will take a single goal advantage to the City ground on Tuesday night after coming from behind to defeat Nottingham Forest in the first of the Championship play off semi-finals this afternoon.
Chris Cohen put Forest ahead after thirteen minutes with a spectacular curling effort but it didn’t take long for the hosts to level proceedings. Irish international Seamus Coleman, on loan from Everton, drove across the pitch and supplied Ian Evatt, whose cross was converted by Keith Southern.
Blackpool were dominant in the second half and were rewarded for their efforts when captain Charlie Adam converted from the spot after DJ Campbell had been brought down by Forest defender James Perch.
The Seasiders held out for victory and should they prevail in the second leg on Tuesday evening, they will face the winners of Leicester City and Cardiff City in the play off final.
