England manager Fabio Capello’s involvement in a player ratinds website for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa has been postponed.
Capello had come under strong criticism for becoming invloved in ‘Capello’s Index’. Initial plans were for the Englad boss to rate every player after each game in South Africa next month.
A spokesman for Capello has distanced the Italian from the website;
“Fabio Capello’s involvement has been purely as a technical expert to establish statistical criteria for the Index.
“He has not been directly involved in the on-line gaming element of the site.
“However, he wants to ensure that all appropriate protocols are in place before the project proceeds and has therefore decided today to postpone it.”
