Man arrested and charged for breaching Covid regulations in Kildare

He’s set to appear in court on Tuesday morning.

A man has been arrested and charged for breaching Covid regulations in Kildare on Monday.

Gardaí in Naas, responding to a complaint, arrested the man in the vicinity of Punchestown Racecourse.

The man was one of two people who deemed to be in breach of the 5km travel restrictions in place as part of the measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

The duo were were issued with instructions by Gardaí and while one person complied, one man was arrested for refusing to comply.

Following receipt of a direction from the Director of Public Prosecutions, the arrested male has been charged and is due to appear before Naas District Court on Tuesday morning 19 January, 2021.
