Armagh’s Steven McDonnell has been named Opel GPA footballer of the League 2010 at an award ceremony held in Dublin today.
Galway’s Ger Farragher meanwhile was given the nod for the hurling player of the year at the ceremony which recognised “the outstanding contribution†the pair made during their respective counties’ 2010 campaigns in the Allianz leagues.
McDonnell, team captain, proved key to Armagh’s bid to secure league promotion as well as a Division 2 title victory win over Down in which he returned six points for his side.
Farragher meanwhile was given recognition for his performances throughout Galway’s league campaign.
