Tests have proved inconclusive in determining a recovery period for Tiger Woods who is suffering from a neck injury.
The World number one has an inflamed neck joint which is causing him pain, difficulty in rotating his head and regular headaches.
Recovery from the injury will be tedious and a date of return to the fairways is unknown.
“I now need to take care of this condition and will return to playing golf when I’m physically able,” Woods said in a press conference this week.
He had hoped to be able to defend his title at the Memorial, which starts on 3 June at Muirfield Village, but that now looks unlikely.
