Bayern Munich midfielder, Franck Ribery, has made a desperate late attempt to have his Champions League suspension overturned to allow him to play in the final against Inter Milan on Saturday.
Ribery appeared at the Court of Arbitration for Sport to appeal UEFA’s three-match ban which he received following his sending off for a dangerous foul on Lisandro Lopez in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Lyon.
Ribery has served one match of the suspension already and Bayern’s lawyers have based their case on the basis that the full ban which was handed down was too harsh.
The Court will announce a decision on the appeal by Tuesday to leave sufficient time for the German side to prepare for Saturday’s final.
