Chelsea midfielder and Germany captain, Michael Ballack, has been ruled out of the World Cup in South Africa due to injury.
Ballack sustained an ankle injury in Chelsea’s FA Cup final victory against Portsmouth last Saturday which forced him to leave the field.
A scan on Ballack’s right ankle today has revealed ligament damage is worse than what was expected. Portsmouth’s, Kevin-Prince Boateng, has been criticised by Ballack for the tackle in Saturday’s Wembley final which has shattered his World Cup dreams.
