It’s a quiet Monday after a busy weekend of sport and the focus is on racing and football for JOE’s daily bets.
The 6.50 at Roscommon, a 1m4f handicap, should be run at a reasonable pace with the likes of Fisher Bridge and Luigina Immaculata sure to race prominently, and I expect the strong travelling Mr Pianist to go close.
This horse had been tapped for toe a couple of times over ten furlongs and failed to stay two miles last time but looks quite well handicapped on the form of his fourth to Roll Over Rover at the Curragh last year.
Over an ideal twelve furlongs, I expect Mr Pianist to have a nice “pozzy†from stall 12 and to be well placed to strike in the straight. He can outstay some speedier types.
It’s a relatively quiet day in the wider sporting sphere, which means the spotlight falls on the League One play-off semi-final second leg between Charlton and Swindon Town.
Swindon won the first leg on a 2-1 scoreline but the Addicks can bounce back and book a Wembley decider against either Millwall or Huddersfield. They’re 5/4 to advance and that’ll do for us.
JOE’s Daily Double: Mr Pianist (6.50, Roscommon @ 10/1) & Charlton to advance to League One play-off final (5/4)
