54 patients are in intensive care with the virus.

There have been 2,125 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Ireland.

The figures released from the Department of Health on Saturday did not contain information regarding deaths related to Covid-19.

The Department of Health’s statement said that the number of daily cases may also change due to future data validation.

As of 8am on Saturday, 259 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 54 are in ICU.

At the same time on Friday, 251 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised.

Earlier on Saturday, HSE CEO Paul Reid urged the public not to dismiss public health advice as further walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics are operating this weekend.

The HSE chief took to Twitter to remind people that it is “never too late” to get a Covid-19 vaccine.

He wrote: “You may decide to ignore strong advice today from many of the top medics in the country. But please don’t dismiss it.

“If, as an adult, you decide not to be vaccinated, you do put yourself and others at much higher risk. We won’t leave anyone behind and it’s never too late.”

His comments come as a number of walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics are open to members of the public aged 16 or over this weekend.

Some clinics are offering people their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna Covid-19 vaccines, while others are providing people with their second dose.

Details regarding the locations of the clinics and their opening times can be found on the HSE’s website here.
