Misty times ahead…
Like something out of a John Carpenter horror film, Met Éireann has issued a fog-themed weather warning, with two separate provinces affected.
The Status Yellow warning, issued on Tuesday afternoon (12 October), concerns both Leinster and Munster.
Thus, the following counties are affected – Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow in Leinster, and Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford in Munster.
Met Éireann says to expect dense fog in places, resulting in poor visibility.
The warning is valid from 1am on Wednesday morning until 11am on the same day.
A small craft warning will also be valid from 10pm on Wednesday until 4pm on Thursday, stretching from Erris Head to Bloody Foreland to Fair Head.
In the case of that warning, southwest to west winds are expected to increase to force 6 on the coastlines in question.
