Bayern Munich’s sensational European season may prove to have a down side as the campaign has put the club’s two star players firmly on the radar of the continent’s big money clubs.
Bayern have signalled their intent to keep their squad intact for next season. However, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli looks set to test their commitment by attempting to lure former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Arjen Robben to Italy.
According to Tuttosport, the Dutch winger is Agnelli’s main transfer target this summer with coach Gigi del Neri eager to add Robben to his squad.
Meanwhile, United look ready to increase the pressure on Bayern by stepping up their bid to bring French midfielder Franck Ribery to Old Trafford.
The English club will have taken heart by comments from Ribery which suggested his chances of staying at Bayern are only 50-50.
Ribery will be out of contract in 2011 and Bayern will be eager to let him go now rather than risk losing out on a transfer fee.
The news will be an unwelcome distraction for Bayern who are preparing to go up up against Inter Milan on Saturday in the final of the Champion’s League.
