Three men arrested following armed robbery in Offaly

The robbery took place in the early hours of Monday morning.

Three men have been arrested following an armed robbery that was carried out in Offaly on Monday morning, 15 November.

At approximately 6.40am, the three men entered a convenience store in Ferbane, armed with a number of weapons.

Two female members of staff were subsequently forced to hand over a quantity of cigarettes, alcohol and cash.

The men then fled the scene in a dark-coloured vehicle.

The staff members involved did not require medical attention following the incident.

After conducting follow-up searches, Gardaí arrested all three men – aged 19, 20 and 26 – in Galway.

The men are currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, in Garda Stations across the midlands of the country.

Investigations are ongoing.
