Very sad news.
A man has died after a road crash in Cavan in the early hours of Saturday (9 April).
The single-vehicle collision occurred at around 3.45am on the L3022 at Virginia.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been taken to Navan Mortuary where a post-mortem will be conducted at a later date.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, and were travelling on the L3022 at Virginia between 3.15am and 4am are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
