Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
A man suffered serious burn injuries during an assault in Dublin on Wednesday (4 May).
At around 5.15pm, Gardaí received reports of a serious public order incident involving a group of males at Thornton Heights in Dublin 8.
During the incident, the man in his 30s suffered serious burn injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment in St James’s Hospital.
An Garda Síochána are appealing for anyone with information on the assault to contact investigating Gardaí at Kilmainham Garda Station on 01 666 9700.
Also, any people who may have video recordings of the incident or any road users who were in the Thornton Heights area of Inchicore between 5pm to 6pm and who may have video footage, including dashcam footage, are urged to make them available to Gardaí.
A Garda spokesperson said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
