The Dublin Fire Brigade shared an image showing the aftermath of the collision.
Three people have been hopitalised following a multi-vehicle crash on the M50.
Gardaí and the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene of the six-car road collision at Junction 9 on the motorway on Friday afternoon (2 September).
“We’re currently attending a six-vehicle road traffic collision on the M50 Dublin J9 Red Cow Southbound,” Dublin Fire Brigade wrote on Twitter just before 5pm.
“The hard shoulder and auxiliary lane are affected with severe delays on approach.”
It also posted an image of the aftermath of the crash which can be seen below.

Meanwhile, in a later statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson said three people were taken to Tallaght University Hospital “as a precaution” following the collision.
They also said that the road remains open.
