It features two A-list stars.
With the stormy weather outside, you probably want to stay indoors this Wednesday night.
Thankfully, there are some good movies on the TV to entertain you.
Here are your options.
K-19: The Widowmaker – Film4 – 6.20pm
Our pick for tonight is this historical thriller about the USSR’s first nuclear ballistic submarine which suffered a malfunction in its reactor on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic in the ’60s.
The movie focuses on the submarine’s captains (Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson) as they race against time to stop a nuclear disaster that not only threatens the lives of their crew but has the potential to ignite a world war.
Helmed by the acclaimed action filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow (Point Break, The Hurt Locker), K-19 boasts a number of incredibly tense set-pieces, with its submarine environments conjuring a real feeling of claustrophobia in viewers.
On top of this, the film’s Soviet setting and its story of a real-life nuclear threat recalls HBO’s gripping 2019 Chernobyl series.
Sherlock Holmes Faces Death – Turner Classic Movies – 7.30pm
A 1943 Sherlock Holmes adaptation starring Basil Rathbone.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum – Film4 – 9pm

From a House on Willow Street – Horror Xtra – 9pm
This South African horror starring Sharni Vinson (You’re Next) centres on a group of people who get more than they bargained for when they kidnap a diamond heiress.
40 Days and 40 Nights – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm
In this romantic comedy, a young man (Josh Hartnett) vows to stay celibate during the forty days of Lent after a bad break-up.
In Bruges – Film4 – 11.35pm
With the release of In Bruges’ writer-director Martin McDonagh’s new film The Banshees of Inisherin, which also stars Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell, what better time is there to rewatch this modern classic?
Lethal Weapon 2 – Turner Classic Movies – 11.55pm
