London 2-12 – 0-15 Derry
Down 4-24 – 0-9 Armagh
Down and London advanced to the semi-finals of the Ulster championship after wins over Armagh and Derry respectively at Casement Park on Saturday afternoon.
In the first game in Belfast, two goals from Mark Mythen helped London stage a courageous fightback against Derry and overcome the Oak Leafers by three points at the finish. Derry had lead by six points at one stage during the second half, but Mythen netted twice in three minutes to turn the tide in favour of the Exiles, who will now face Down in the Ulster semi-final.
Down were far too strong for Armagh in the second of Saturday afternoon’s fixtures at Casement Park, overcoming the Orchard county by a whopping 27 points.
Johnny McCusker top-scored for the Mourne men with 2-6, Paul Branniff added ten points, while Aidan Clarke also netted two goals from the bench as Gerard Monan’s men cruised to victory.
