Boasting between 11,000 and 12,000 MILFs, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front reluctantly agreed to a ceasefire with the incoming Philippine administration this week.
The Southern Philippine revolutionary group have warned however that if the new government adopts a “war policy, MILF is prepared to defend itselfâ€, according to the group’s chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal, who raised an Appletini at the prospect.
“It is disgusting that after almost 10 years in office, the peace process was not completed during her (departing President Arroyo’s) term,” Iqbal continued, bemoaning the ten years had ravaged the group’s once-youthful appearances.
