The two teenagers had been best friends for years.
Funeral details have been announced for Kiea McCann (17) and Dlava Mohamed (16), the two victims of the fatal car crash in Monaghan this week.
The collision happened on the N54 at Legnakelly near Clones at around 6.45pm on Monday (31 July) and left three others injured.
Kiea and Dlava had been best friends for years and were on their way to attend a Debs ball for the class of 2023 at Largy College in Clones when the crash occurred.
Details of the funeral arrangements for the two teenage girls have been posted to RIP.ie. The death notice for Kiea (pictured left) reads:
“Kiea will be resting in her family home from today (Wednesday) until tomorrow (Thursday).
“Kiea’s funeral procession will leave her family home on Thursday at 1.30pm approx, to arrive at Sacred Heart Chapel, Clones, for 2pm funeral Mass. Kiea will be laid to rest in Mount St Oliver’s Cemetery, Clones, afterwards.
“Family time on Thursday morning please.”

Also posted to RIP.ie was the death notice for Dlava (pictured right), which states:
“Dlava will be coming home to the family home this evening in The Diamond, Clones for 7pm were she will resting among her family and many friends.
“Dlava will be leaving the Diamond Clones on Thursday morning at 6.45am to arrive at Clonskeagh Mosque & Culture Centre on 19 Roebuck Road at 1.30pm for her funeral services. Her gentle soul will be laid to rest at 3pm in Newcastle Muslim Cemetery, Dublin.
“There will be a coach leaving the Diamond Clones at 6.45am to follow Dlava to Dublin to her final resting place for all her family and friends.”
Gardaí in Monaghan, meanwhile, are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling on the N54 between Clones and Smithborough on Monday between 6.15pm and 7.00pm are asked to make such footage available to Gardaí.
